About exhibition

Visitors will see several sections and collections from different periods. The exhibition "Russian Art of the Late 18th – Early 20th Centuries" features paintings by well-known Russian artists V. A. Tropinin, I. K. Aivazovsky, I. I. Shishkin, V. E. Makovsky, D. D. Burliuk, O. E. Braz and others. The show is based on the collection of Moscow collector A. S. Zhigalko, who donated a collection of paintings, graphics and sculpture to the town of Chaikovsky. The exhibition "Kasli and Kusinsky Castings" contains cast-iron works of the late 19th – early 20th centuries by P. Klodt, E. Lanceray, N. Liberikh, A. Ober, R. Bach and others. Among the best-known Western European models are depictions of Don Quixote and Mephistopheles created by the French sculptor J. L. Gauthier. The exhibition "Polar Artist I. P. Ruban" was created in the early 1990s based on a collection of works by I. P. Ruban, donated to the gallery by the artist himself. Igor Pavlovich gathered material for his future canvases during arduous polar expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic, creating a distinctive artistic chronicle of the exploration of high latitudes. The exhibition "City in Colors" tells not only about the city’s cultural life but also about the creative fates of local artists. Separately displayed will be works by masters of decorative and applied arts awarded the titles "People's Master of Russia" and "People's Master of Prikamye".
