The State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the largest regional art museums in Russia. The museum comprises three venues: the Main Building, the Gallery of Contemporary Art, and the national art gallery “Khazine.” The ticket entitles the holder to visit the Main Building and the Gallery of Contemporary Art. The Main Building’s collection includes monuments of Old Russian icon painting of the 16th century and works of Russian painting of the 18th–19th centuries (Dmitry Levitsky, Vladimir Borovikovsky, Fyodor Rokotov, Vasily Tropinin, Ivan Aivazovsky, Isaac Levitan, Valentin Serov, Konstantin Korovin, Ilya Repin, Ivan Shishkin, etc.). The Gallery of Contemporary Art is the largest exhibition venue in Kazan specializing in contemporary art. Visitors can access exhibition spaces and a lecture hall where regular lectures on contemporary art are held. The ticket must be shown at the ticket office of each building and is valid for 2 weeks.
