About exhibition
Visitors will see monuments of culture and art of the peoples of the world from deep antiquity to the present: masterpieces of painting and sculpture, works of applied art, coins and medals, and archaeological materials. During the visit you can admire the ceremonial Jordan Staircase, which opens the enfilade of the Winter Palace's state rooms: Avanzal, Nikolaevsky, Concert and Field Marshal's Halls. Guests pass through the Pavilion Hall with the famous "Peacock" clock, and can also explore the collections displayed in the Small, Large and New Hermitage buildings, where they will encounter works by the great masters of the Italian Renaissance. The halls along the route present outstanding works by European masters of the 17th century and the heritage of ancient cultures. Students of all educational institutions in the Russian Federation may visit all temporary exhibitions and permanent displays in the Main Museum Complex free of charge every Thursday. Entrance with the Pushkin Card is through the Small Hermitage: Shuvalovsky Passage (37 Millionnaya St./36 Palace Embankment).
