Exhibitions of the Alexander Shilov Gallery
About exhibition
The gallery is located in the historic and cultural center of Moscow. The institution was established in 1996 by unanimous resolutions of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Moscow Government on the basis of a collection of paintings and graphic works that Alexander Shilov donated to the nation free of charge. The gallery's grand opening took place on May 31, 1997. Alexander Shilov's range of works is extremely broad: folk motifs, socially acute canvases, portraits of members of the creative intelligentsia, participants of the Great Patriotic War, clergymen, beautiful female images, as well as landscapes and still lifes. The Alexander Shilov Gallery is an important public and cultural center of the capital, a place for spiritual and patriotic education. The museum regularly hosts guided tours, thematic lectures, classical music concerts, and meetings with the heroes depicted in the master's paintings.
