Exhibits of the Feodosia Museum of Antiquities
About exhibition
The Feodosia Museum of Antiquities is one of the oldest museums in Europe and the oldest municipal museum in Russia. The museum was opened on 13 (25) May 1811. The exhibition is dedicated to the history of the Crimean region and Feodosia in particular. The displays reflect all the main stages of the history of southeastern Crimea, from the era of primitive communal society to the events of the Great Patriotic War, and introduce the past of one of Russia's oldest cities — Feodosia, formerly known as Kaffa or Kefe, the only city to have preserved its ancient name. Today the museum houses more than 80,000 exhibits.
