Military-Historical Museum Exhibition

The Military-Historical Museum dates back to August 1983, when the museum-diorama "Oryol Offensive Operation" was opened. The museum occupies part of the former mansion of merchant Chikin, which is a listed cultural heritage site. The exhibition is devoted to the military history of the Oryol region and to the participation of Oryol residents in the major military campaigns of the 18th–early 20th centuries. Special attention is given to one of the region's key events — the liberation of the oblast from Nazi invaders during World War II.
