Exhibition 'In Leskov's World'
About exhibition
The N. S. Leskov Museum is located in a house preserved on the site of the city estate of the father of the prominent Russian writer. The only museum in Russia dedicated to the author of the story 'The Left-Hander' was opened in 1974. The exhibition is unique for its richness in original materials. Museum visitors can see the writer's personal belongings, his furniture, books from the memorial library, first publications and editions published during his lifetime, portraits and photographs of Leskov and his relatives and close associates. The extensive collection of Leskov items made it possible to recreate in one of the museum's halls the setting of the writer's last St. Petersburg study — he was an avid collector of rare books, paintings, clocks, and snuffboxes. Due to repair and restoration work on the building of the N. S. Leskov House-Museum, the exhibition is currently operating in the T. N. Granovsky House.
