Exhibition «Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral»
About exhibition
The architectural ensemble of monastic monuments, formed in the 16th–17th centuries, is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Visitors will stroll across the complex grounds, see the apothecary garden where monks grew herbs for preparing medicines, kvass and medicinal aromatic teas, and admire the architecture of the main church of the museum ensemble — the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral. Guests will enter the cathedral and view the frescoes by Guriy Nikitin — the final work of the famous 17th-century master, a 'painter of the first rank' who was invited by tsars and patriarchs, metropolitans and townspeople to decorate churches in Moscow, Rostov, Yaroslavl and Vologda.
