The exhibition tells the postwar history of the city, which received the new name Sovetsk, and about its first inhabitants — settlers — vividly demonstrating their everyday life, clothing, and the ideological aspects of life in the USSR. The centerpiece of the exhibition is a reconstructed living room that literally immerses visitors in the atmosphere of the 1960s. Visitors are traditionally attracted both by the first civil documents of the new residents and by the settlement statistics for the entire Kaliningrad Oblast. The collection includes documents, photographs, posters, furniture, household items, women's clothing, and footwear.
