Exhibition "Treasures of the Nomads of Eurasia"
About exhibition
More than 19,000 items made of precious metals, ceramics, glass, minerals, bone, bronze and iron found in the Don kurgans are displayed in two exhibition halls. Gold and silver ornaments, tableware, weapons, armor and harness fittings are executed in the famous Scytho-Sarmatian "animal" style. The treasures belonged to members of the tribal aristocracy and symbolized power, might and wealth. The centerpiece of the collection is the famous Sarmatian hoard of the 1st century AD, which includes a golden horse caparison and harness items, weapons and jewelry. The Azov Museum's "Treasures of the Nomads of Eurasia" exhibition has been repeatedly shown in museums in Russia, Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland and Japan. Visitors can use a free multimedia guide created on the "Artefact" platform. An additional service is guided tours (cost from 300 to 800 rubles for a group of 1 to 25 people). Tickets can be purchased at the museum ticket office and on the "VMuseum" portal.
