About exhibition

The exhibition was created with a grant from the Head of the Chuvash Republic. It features silver and bead jewelry made by folk masters of the 19th–21st centuries, representing one of the vivid and distinctive phenomena in the history of Chuvash folk art. The display includes ornaments of ethnographic territorial groups (upper, lowland and middle-lowland) of the Chuvash. Here you can see head (хушпу, тухья), ear (алка, халха саки, сарка), neck (сюха, мая), breast (ама, шулькеме), back, cross-shoulder (теветь) and waist (хуре) ornaments. Contemporary jewelry also occupies a prominent place in the exhibition: original works by V. Sukhareva, V. Tuktarova, B. Chachev, N. Baltaev and L. Baltaeva. Tickets can be purchased via the link.
