Exhibition 'Saint Petersburg: History of Development'
About exhibition
A multimedia exhibition dedicated to the history of Saint Petersburg and the main stages of its development, which are presented in thematic sections that form a coherent narrative. Through fourteen multimedia complexes, visitors learn the city’s inner history and the logic of its development, and can understand how it survived the post-revolutionary devastation and the terrible years of the Great Patriotic War, rose from the ruins, and transformed into a modern metropolis—an important economic, scientific, and cultural center of Russia, preserving a rich cultural and historical heritage. A separate part of the exhibition is devoted to the Siege of Leningrad. To maximize visitors’ immersion in the life and atmosphere of long-past Petersburg, the latest multimedia means are used: electronic information screens, touch tables, interactive maps, and more. Theatrical sets, installations, and mannequins in historical costumes allow visitors to travel through time and feel part of a large city that unites destinies, cultures, and traditions.
