Exhibition "Russian Visual Arts of the 18th–20th Centuries"
About exhibition
More than 650 works of fine and decorative-applied art are displayed in the museum's halls. The chronological principle of the display is combined with thematic groupings — featured are "Military Portrait and Paraphernalia of the First Half of the 19th Century" and "Provincial Portrait of the First Half of the 19th Century." The collection includes portrait miniatures on bone. The exhibition presents the museum's finest works — portraits by F. S. Rokotov, V. L. Borovikovsky, K. P. Bryullov, V. A. Tropinin, A. G. Venetsianov, V. E. Makovsky, I. N. Kramskoi, I. E. Repin, V. A. Serov, K. S. Petrov-Vodkin; historical canvases by A. I. Ivanov, K. F. Flavitsky, B. P. Villevalde, N. N. Ge, G. I. Semiradsky; landscapes by I. K. Aivazovsky, I. I. Shishkin, V. D. Polenov, I. I. Levitan, K. A. Korovin, A. I. Kuindzhi; sculpture by M. M. Antokolsky and M. A. Vrubel; graphic works by O. A. Kiprensky, A. N. Benois, M. V. Dobuzhinsky, Z. E. Serebriakova, N. K. Roerich and many other masters.
