Exhibition 'Rurikids. Romanovs'
About exhibition
The multimedia exhibition tells the story of the eras of the Rurikids and the Romanovs. Using multimedia and interactive equipment (screens, touch tables, 3D reconstructions of battles and skirmishes, original 'living books', electronic quizzes, and a unique dome theater), it narrates events that had a decisive influence on the formation of the state and on all aspects of life in our country. The exhibition covers the founding of ancient towns, the Christianization of Rus', the struggle against foreign invaders, and the creation of a strong, distinctive state. Visitors will learn about ancient trade routes and legendary battles, the secrets of fortified strongholds and great victories, and little-known facts from the period of fragmentation and the Mongol invasion. The feats of heroes and diplomats, examples of sanctity, self-sacrificial love of the homeland, and the bitter lessons of apostasy and betrayal — these and much more await visitors. A part of the exhibition devoted to the rule of the Romanov dynasty recounts three centuries of our country's history, during which it experienced major events: the exploration and settlement of Siberia and the Far East, the reunification of Rus' and Ukraine, the founding of the new capital — St. Petersburg, the victory over Napoleon, the incorporation of southern regions into Russia, the abolition of serfdom, unprecedented cultural, scientific and industrial upswings, and much more.
