Exhibition 'The Roerichs in the Novgorod Region'
About exhibition
One of the exhibitions of the Okulovka Local History Museum named after N.N. Miklouho-Maclay is dedicated to the Roerich family — cultural figures who devoted their lives to selfless service to humanity and to its spiritual and cultural evolution. It is no exaggeration to say that all members of the Roerich family were distinguished by a diversity of talents and a wide range of interests. Part of the Roerich family's life in Okulovka is the subject of the exhibition 'The Roerichs in the Okulovka area'. Nikolai Konstantinovich Roerich, at the invitation of Duke Nikolai Nikolaevich Leuchtenberg, carried out archaeological excavations in the Okulovka area. It was here that the family's firstborn, Yury, was born. The exhibition contains materials provided by the International Roerich Center: reproductions of Nikolai Konstantinovich's paintings, photographic materials from their life, books and research materials, and much more... You can learn more about the Roerich family's life by visiting the museum exhibition.
