This exhibition space is where visitors' acquaintance with the museum begins. It presents the main chapters of the history of the city of Zarechny in the Penza Region. The decision to build "Instrument Plant No. 1134" and the town around it was announced on July 20, 1954, by a decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. Visitors learn about the surveyors and the first builders, and about how the original urban development plan looked. A separate place in the exhibition is occupied by the private office of the first director of the town-forming enterprise, Mikhail Vasilyevich Protsenko, who made a significant contribution to the establishment and development of the city. Authentic items that once belonged to Mikhail Vasilyevich are displayed here. These include his desk, a typewriter, a desk lamp, books, manuscripts, documents and much more.
