The exhibition "Porkhov during the Great Patriotic War" preserves all the main historical sections, beginning with the period of occupation and ending with Soviet heroes and liberators. The exhibition is arranged in chronological order and begins with the installation "Prisoner of War", which tells about the concentration camp that the Germans established in Porkhov at the very beginning of the war. Vivid installations with mannequins present the partisan movement and the burning of Krasukha. Display cases contain weapon models, fragments of the daily life of Wehrmacht soldiers and officers, partisans' belongings, German and Soviet trophies, and much more. In the center of the exhibition hall there is a large-scale diorama that depicts the confrontation between the partisans and the fascists; wartime artifacts found by search teams are also displayed here: an aircraft wing, boxes of cartridges, grenades, and many other items. Large digital media displays have been installed in the exhibition halls to show visitors thematic films about the wartime period in the Porkhov district. Sound design will also be played so that visitors can immerse themselves in the atmosphere of that time.
