The exhibition presents materials that tell the story of Yartsevo's development as a town. Although city status was only granted in 1926, this was preceded by a long prehistory connected with the activities of the industrialist A. I. Khludov, who in 1873 founded the town-forming enterprise – a paper-spinning factory, later a cotton mill complex. You can also see materials about the period of construction of two major city enterprises – the diesel engine plant and the cast-iron foundry. To speed up construction and commissioning, the town of Yartsevo was declared an All-Union Komsomol shock construction project. Later the diesel engine plant and the foundry were transformed into Yartsevo's second town-forming enterprise – "YAZD AMO ZIL".
