Exhibition of the Pavlovo Knife Museum

About exhibition

Visitors can tour the Pavlovo Knife Museum exhibition on their own. In the lobby they can learn about the history of the building. The Knife Museum building is the oldest architectural monument in the town. The museum displays more than four hundred knives. The exhibition occupies three halls. The first hall features pre-revolutionary pieces that were produced in the Pavlovo metalworking district. Among them are the factory of F. M. Varypaev, supplier to His Imperial Majesty's court, the Terebin brothers' factory, and the Pavlovo artisan artel. In the second hall you can see knives from the Soviet period — both by the last individual craftsmen and by the largest producer of folding knives, the production association "Oktyabr" (Vorsma). Also on display here are folding and penknives, shop and kitchen knives, veterinary and craft knives. The third hall is dedicated to items from the late 20th to the early 21st century. Contemporary knives are presented in several groups: for hunting and tourism, tactical, and souvenir knives.
