Exhibition "Motherland. Courage. Glory."
About exhibition
To mark the anniversary of the Great Victory, the National Museum of the Udmurt Republic presents a large-scale exhibition dedicated to the contribution of Udmurtia's residents to the victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945). The exhibition is built around two main sections: “Rear – to the Front” – revealing how Udmurtia became an important industrial center during the war years, covering the evacuation of enterprises, the contribution of local industry to supplying the front, the construction of strategic facilities, and the role of culture and the arts in sustaining the people's morale. “Compatriots – Participants in Great Battles” is devoted to the feats of Udmurtia natives on the battlefields, presenting the stories of Heroes of the Soviet Union, recipients of the Orders of Glory, as well as rank-and-file soldiers who displayed courage in combat. Special attention in the exhibition is paid to the participation of Udmurtia residents in military conflicts of the late 20th and early 21st centuries; the theme of the heroism of fellow residents during the Special Military Operation occupies a central place in this section. Visitors can explore unique materials presented on electronic terminals: archival documents, photographs, volunteers' applications to join the front, letters from the front, authentic pages of home-front and frontline newspapers, and Books of Remembrance. The exhibition is supplemented by wartime newsreel footage and thematic documentary films.
