Nature Department Exhibition
About exhibition
The department broadly showcases the flora and fauna of Eastern Siberia from ancient times to the present day. Visitors can see mammoth bones and the animals that lived alongside them during the Ice Age. They will get acquainted with the symbols of the Siberian taiga — the bear — and experience a capercaillie's lek. They will make a 'climb' into the mountains of the Eastern Sayan and encounter the Siberian ibex, the snow leopard, the Altai ular and other inhabitants. And, descending from the mountains, they will learn which animals inhabit the wetlands and steppe landscapes. Interactive tours, theatrical museum lessons, themed festivals, environmental campaigns, workshops, quests, numerous exhibitions and competitions will captivate visitors of all ages. The department also hosts exhibitions from the museum's collections and plant exhibitions (peonies, lilies, roses, garden shrubs, houseplants).
