Exhibition of the 'Ploshchad Mira' Museum Center
About exhibition
The 'Ploshchad Mira' Museum Center is the largest museum and contemporary art venue east of the Urals. The exhibition area is 5,000 square meters. The building's interior architecture is a monument to Soviet modernism. Visitors will appreciate the staircases, lighting, and the arrangement of the atrium and multi-screen. The exhibition space begins in the museum foyer; its walls are works of art: Alena Kirtsova's 'Sky – Shore – River' and Elena Lapshina's wall painting 'My Pencil Diary of Night TV Programs.' Throughout the museum's five floors, in addition to permanent and temporary exhibitions, are artworks from different periods. These include the painted triptych 'Views of Krasnoyarsk at the End of the 19th Century' by Valentin Makhitaryanda, the frescoes 'The Seasons' by Petr Tatarnikov and Vladimir Zagorov-Tolstoy, installations by Viktor Sachivko, and many other works. Since the museum opened in 1987 the so-called 'Red Halls' have been preserved; they are a unique example of late Soviet design thinking. Several exhibitions are now housed there, along with historical panels, exhibits, and multifunctional 'cassettes' containing documents.
