Exhibition of the M. G. Abakumov Museum and Exhibition Hall
About exhibition
The museum and exhibition hall of People's Artist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, and Honorary Citizen of Kolomna, Mikhail Georgievich Abakumov, is open to visitors. The exhibition is arranged in three halls. The biographical hall tells the story of the artist's life (numerous photographs, documents and awards). A stylized corner of the studio — an easel and palette, brushes and paints — all belong to the master. A multimedia kiosk contains biographical information, details of solo exhibitions, and photo and video materials from the family archive. The graphics hall contains 54 works. 'The mobile lines and strokes, through which the surface of the paper shines through, create a living, breathing, tangible space of place and time. The artist's graphic work carries within it a lofty sense of the author's kinship with both the distant and the near — with all that naturally falls within the sphere of his attention and interests. For the master it is like a guiding thread that excites and gives an incomparable joy of creation and inspiration,' — Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts A. Rozhin. The painting hall contains 62 works. Here you become an integral part of the 'God's world' of Russian nature. You awaken with the first birds ('Morning'), bow humbly before the 'Golden Altar', rejoice wholeheartedly in the bright holiday ('Trinity Day') and soar into the boundless sky on the 'Wings of Spring'. Home is good — where mother and father, wife Asya Georgievna and daughter Natalya are shown in a rural interior.
