The museum-reserve is the first memorial musical museum in Russia and a center for the preservation, study and popularization of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's creative legacy. Founded in 1894, the museum represented a new type of museum for Russia — a musical-memorial museum in which not only the domestic setting of the composer's final years has been completely preserved, but also his archive — a priceless musical and literary heritage — as well as his library. You will see the memorial house, the wing with an exhibition dedicated to Sergey Taneyev (a pupil and friend of Tchaikovsky), the carriage house, the cellar, and you can take a walk through the park. All temporary exhibitions in the concert-and-exhibition building, as well as the exhibition titled P. I. Tchaikovsky — Symphony 'Life', are also available.
