V. G. Rasputin Museum Exhibition
About exhibition
The "V. G. Rasputin Museum" department is a center for preserving and studying the creative legacy of Valentin Grigorievich Rasputin - a writer, a classic of Russian literature, a public figure, and a publicist. The exhibition, equipped with modern multimedia equipment, is housed in a cozy wooden mansion in the historic center of Irkutsk. The museum has two exhibition halls. The exhibition in the basement-level hall presents the biography of the writer. Personal belongings, photographs, documents, and awards of Valentin Grigorievich Rasputin are on display for visitors. An interactive panel with a family tree allows visitors to learn the history of the Rasputin family. Film and video materials help convey the atmosphere of the period in which the writer lived and worked. On the first floor of the exhibition, visitors are introduced to the world of Valentin Rasputin's creative work. Here you can become acquainted with the author's works and, if desired, read or listen to his best-known stories. The museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore an electronic dictionary of the folk vocabulary used by the writer. The central part of the exhibition is a reconstruction of the writer's memorial study. The items displayed there were in Valentin Rasputin's apartment in Irkutsk. The memorial study allows visitors to see his working environment: a desk, chair, typewriter, furniture, a collection of bells and Dymkovo toys, and icons. Permanent exhibitions - "The Life and Work of the Writer Valentin Rasputin".
