The V. M. Bekhterev District Medicine Museum opened in 2007 in one of the buildings of the zemstvo hospital built in 1881. The museum's exhibition presents the development of healthcare in Yelabuga from the 18th to the 20th centuries and includes information on the biography and professional activities of V. M. Bekhterev and on the doctors who worked here. It is the only museum of its kind in Russia. The museum features an interactive visitor area where you can try on a doctor's clothing, measure your blood pressure, check your height and weight, look through a microscope, and take part in psychological testing.
