About exhibition

In the exhibition you can see a narrated diorama "The Birth of the Soviet Guard", an authentic partisan dugout, famous soldier dog tags, and weapons from the battle sites depicted in the painting "The Battle at Solovyova Crossing". The museum also has an exhibition of military hardware. This open-air display has long been a favorite spot for Smolensk residents — both adults and children. It showcases examples of artillery and armored vehicles from the Great Patriotic War and local postwar conflicts: the legendary "Katyusha" rocket launcher, the famous T-34 and IS-2 tanks, the ZIS-5 truck, the "Shilka" self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (ZSU-23-4), and the MiG-23M fighter.
