About exhibition

Visitors can explore exhibits in several museum halls. Hall No. 1 – the "Chronicle of the Land of Kislovodsk" exhibition. It features artifacts from the 3rd millennium BCE and contemporary objects that tell of the past and present. Particularly noteworthy are interesting archaeological finds: ancient weapons — sabres and swords, knives and daggers, arrowheads of various shapes, warriors' battle armor — as well as a variety of women's jewelry and household utensils. The museum's hallmark is the artificially deformed Alanic skulls. The new exhibition widely displays collections of clothing from different eras and peoples. Traditional mountain costumes and household items occupy a prominent place: kumgans (large jugs), daggers, and wooden tableware. Hall No. 2 – the "Kislovodsk — City of Glory and Mercy" exhibition. Here visitors learn about the fates of Kislovodsk residents who endured the hardships of war. Hall No. 3 – the "Natural Wealth of Kislovodsk" exhibition. It presents inhabitants of the ancient Tethys Ocean: cephalopod and gastropod molluscs, ammonites (resembling large snails), and belemnites. Visitors will see the teeth and bones of ancient southern elephants and their relatives — mammoths. Hall No. 4 – the "State Symbols of Russia: History and Traditions" exhibition. In four sections the exhibition displays the symbols of the Russian state from the 18th century, as well as the symbols of Stavropol Krai, the Kavminvody area and the city of Kislovodsk.
