K. E. Tsiolkovsky Museum Exhibition
About exhibition
The museum includes seven exhibition and display halls: 'Vyatka of Tsiolkovsky'; 'Parlor of a Vyatka Official (1870s)'; 'Tsiolkovsky's Workshop'; 'Conquerors of the Sky'; 'Embracing the Sky with Strong Hands'; 'Space Technology'; and an exhibition hall. Visitors will see unique items that provide an impression of Vyatka during the period when K. E. Tsiolkovsky lived there. The exhibits introduce the history of his family, his years at the gymnasium, and his work as a tutor in Moscow. Guests will be acquainted with a collection of aircraft models, authentic objects, documents, and photographs that reveal the history of the creation of the Kirov Aero Club and its first organizers — heroes of the Great Patriotic War and notable athletes. The exhibition also features products from Kirov enterprises whose items are used in aviation, as well as objects related to the history of space exploration: a reentry/descent capsule with a parachute, fuel tanks for liquid‑propellant rocket engines, and a fragment of rail from Baikonur used to transport rockets to the launch pad. Art lovers will be delighted by the large space-themed paintings by artists A. I. Veprikov and Yu. A. Knyazev.
