Exhibition of the Museum of the History of the Karl May School
About exhibition
The museum opened on May 12, 1995, and until April 2018 was a structural subdivision of SPIIRAN, after which it was transferred to the Roerich Family Museum-Institute. During Imperial Russia, the gymnasium—known for its progressive pedagogical views—was attended at different times by Nikolai Roerich, his younger brothers Boris and Vladimir, and his sons Yuri and Svyatoslav. Today, eight rooms on the first floor house an exhibition dedicated to the school's more than 160-year history. That history is revealed through textbooks, documents, photographs, published works, and the personal belongings of the gymnasium's teachers and students.
