Exhibition of the Museum of Tray-Making Craft "Khudoyarov House"

About exhibition

The museum is housed in a two-story wooden building constructed no later than 1843. The building belonged to one of the founders of the dynasty of serf artists Khudoyarov — Isaak Fedorovich. Today the house is a federally protected historic monument. Visitors can trace the origin and development of the unique craft of metal painting from the 18th to the 21st century, and also learn about the life and work of the famous Tagil painters Khudoyarov. The exhibition features forged and riveted trays, natural minerals and marble kurants for paint production, trays with narrative and floral painting, stencils for applying ornaments, engravings, and metal leaf (potal).
