I. A. Bunin Museum Exhibition
About exhibition
The exhibition consists of two themed halls and the museum courtyard "Bunin's Poetic Garden." The "Russia as Home" hall displays the writer's personal belongings, editions of his works published during his lifetime, and household items from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The second hall, titled "Russia — Distant and Close," tells of I. A. Bunin's life away from his homeland. Notable features include the art object "Model of Journeys" and installations that recreate a fragment of the mansion of the artist E. I. Bukovetsky and the writer's emigrant period. The hall presents Bunin's personal items and letters, as well as rare editions of works by Russian émigrés. The courtyard installations convey the author's special relationship with nature. There are also panels with quotations from the writer's works that reveal the various meanings of the garden motif in his oeuvre.
