Exhibition of the "Grand Maket Russia" Museum
About exhibition
The "Grand Maket Russia" Museum opened on June 8, 2012. The museum's exhibition is the largest model of Russia in the world, covering 800 square meters, and is an artistic embodiment of the image of Russia: from its Far Eastern borders to the amber coast of the Baltic Sea. Dozens of specialists from diverse fields worked around the clock for five years to create it. The model layout presents composite images of various cities and regions, and the genre scenes depict virtually every kind of human activity. The composition's dynamism is provided by railway and automobile traffic, and various scenes with moving objects and figures can be controlled by visitors. More than 200 trains run along ingenious routes. The automobile traffic, which for the first time in model making worldwide uses electromagnetic induction as the power source for the cars, will leave no visitor indifferent. Every 15 minutes night rolls in from east to west over the model, simulated using nearly 800,000 LEDs. The sea of lights makes the experience of viewing the model truly unforgettable!
