The exhibition is dedicated to the way of life of a peasant family. It recreates the atmosphere of a cozy living space. The interior is executed in the folk traditions of the Russian North. Everything reflects the customs, rites, and celebrations of the Belozersk region. Of particular interest is the complex “Author’s Recipes of Traditional Belozersk Cuisine.” Special value is the collection of recipes for fish dishes. The second hall explores peasant everyday life at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. The hall is equipped with audio stations featuring lullabies and a display case with antique toys. All exhibits are authentic and may be handled. The third hall is devoted to maidenhood and presents a collection of old ritual towels (rushnyky) and linens. Young visitors will be interested in the “Village Homestead” section with interactive elements and multimedia. The exhibition “Men’s Crafts and Handicrafts” reveals the male trades of Belozersk.
