E. A. Ryazanov Museum Exhibition
About exhibition
At the center of the Eldar Ryazanov Museum's exhibition is the room where he spent the first days of his life and later stayed while evacuated during the war. Thanks to Ryazanov's own recollections and those of his contemporaries, visitors can learn details about the Samara period of his life and creative work. The hall "Kuibyshev — the Reserve Capital" is devoted to the life and everyday existence of the thousands of citizens who found shelter on the Volga. The exhibition is based on the memories of Eldar Ryazanov and his peers, whose "home-front" childhood took place in Kuibyshev. The museum's collection includes unique newsreel footage and a photo archive, documents and objects of the era that convey the atmosphere of the city and the mood of the people who lived there in 1941–1943. In the "Visiting Ryazanov" hall, the director's furniture and personal belongings from his Moscow apartment and his house in the Moscow-region settlement "Soviet Writer" are displayed. An atmosphere of Eldar Alexandrovich's presence is created, allowing a sense of dialogue with him.
