About exhibition

Visitors are invited to explore the exhibitions of the Decembrists Museum and to learn about the history of the oldest building in Transbaikalia – the Mikhailo-Archangel Church, where the museum is located. The museum presents the history of the rise and development of the Decembrist movement. Through the numerous documents, photographs, paintings, books, household items and personal belongings of the Decembrists displayed in the exhibitions, the story of their lives after the movement's defeat is revealed – their time in penal servitude and subsequent settlement in Siberia.
