Exhibition of the Museum of Archaeology and History of Tatarstan, Yelabuga

About exhibition

During the tour you will see finds made in the oldest cities of Mesopotamia, examples of early writing, and household and cult objects from Kish, Lagash, Uruk, Nippur and other Sumerian cities of the 4th–3rd centuries BCE. Visitors will become acquainted with the Ananyino culture of the Ural-Volga region, as well as with the history of well-known medieval towns such as Kirmen and Alabuga (Yelabuga), through objects uncovered during archaeological excavations: a rich ceramic assemblage, weapons, tools and jewelry from Bulgar (10th–mid-13th centuries) and Golden Horde (mid-13th–15th centuries) sites.
