About exhibition
The exhibition presents the life and work of Murad Magomedovich Kazhlaev — an outstanding figure of the Soviet and Russian popular stage who played a key role in the development of the republic's modern music scene. He served as artistic director and principal conductor of the Estrada-Symphony Orchestra of Central Television and All-Union Radio. His contribution to cinema is immense: he created the musical accompaniment for 42 films. His works are preserved on 33 vinyl records and 25 compact discs released in various countries around the world, including Russia, Germany, the USA, Italy and the United Kingdom. The composer was honored with the title People's Artist of the USSR and Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation, and was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Order of Friendship and the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", as well as an Azerbaijani order. The exhibition features archival photographs, documents, awards and items reflecting his creative path and significance for the musical culture of the 20th century. Visitors can see unique exhibits that tell the story of the celebrated maestro.
