Exhibition "Literary Sochi"
About exhibition
The exhibition is housed in a building constructed in 1956 in the neoclassical (Stalinist Empire) style, designed by architect I. Spirin. Visitors can learn about Sochi's literary chronicle, which recounts the Sochi-related episodes in the lives of many well-known writers who visited or lived in the city and reflected those impressions and events in their work. The exhibition highlights the Decembrists A. Bestuzhev-Marlinsky and A. Odoevsky, M. Gorky, I. Bunin, I. Babel, the history of the Tolstoyan commune and F. Dostoevsky’s library, among other topics. The second part of the exhibition, featuring unique documents of the era, is devoted to the life and work of N. Ostrovsky. Currently, the museum's exhibition halls permanently display shows drawn from the museum's own collections, private collections, and the holdings of Russian museums.
