Exhibition “The Ulyanov Family Apartment in Samara, 1890–1893”
About exhibition
A permanent memorial-domestic exhibition located on the museum's second floor reconstructs, on a strictly historical basis, the furnishings of the rooms of all members of the Ulyanov family. In minute detail, the rooms of Maria Aleksandrovna and Manyasha, Mark Elizarov, Anna Ulyanova-Elizarova, Vladimir Ulyanov's study, the children's room of Mitya Ulyanov and Zhenya Elizarov, the dining-living room and the kitchen have been restored. The exhibition recreates the domestic environment and atmosphere of life of a Russian intelligentsia family of moderate means in the last quarter of the 19th century in Samara. The museum's particular pride is a piano that belonged to the Ulyanov family. Of considerable value are a fragment of an original coffee service by the French firm Limoges and books from the holdings of the Alexandrov Public Library that the Ulyanovs read during their time in Samara. These and other exhibits, which tell of the interests, hobbies and tastes of the family members, create a sense of presence characteristic of historical-memorial museums. Admission to the exhibition is free for participants in the special military operation and their family members. To obtain a concession ticket, a participant in the special military operation or a family member must apply at the museum ticket office with a document proving their entitlement to the benefit.
