The exhibition dedicated to the history of Klin covers the period from the 14th to the 20th century and is presented through documents, books, photographs, paintings and graphic works, numismatics, archaeology and ethnography. Visitors can see archaeological finds, offensive and defensive weapons of the Russian warrior, a hoard of coins, household items, tools, elements of peasant clothing and merchant furniture. A large section contains documentary materials, samples of military uniforms and everyday items that testify to the time before the advance of German troops, the period of occupation, the Klin–Solnechnogorsk defensive and offensive operations as part of the Battle of Moscow, the war years and Klin’s postwar restoration, and the city’s industrial heyday. Numerous models of space equipment, photographs, written sources and printed publications tell the stories of Klin residents whose lives are connected with the exploration of outer space. The zoological collection consists of the modern inhabitants of local forests, fields and rivers, as well as fossilized remains of ancient organisms preserved in the earth’s strata and fragments of animals from the glacial era.
