Exhibition 'Kladovka. Gallery of Stories'
About exhibition
The art space 'Kladovka' reopened after renovations with a slightly updated concept: 'Kladovka. Gallery of Stories'. A gallery of stories — because behind every object there is an interesting human story: a story of existence and creativity, memories, cherished moments and kindred spirits. These stories lie behind every painting, tape recorder, record, badge, bust, book, photograph or handmade item. In one of the halls of the art space, formerly the 'Vinyl Room', there is now a recreation of a USSR recording studio, featuring iconic stories of the bygone era and symbolic 'windows to the world': well-known Nizhny Novgorod composers, the life and work of Vladimir Vysotsky, the 'Elektronika' radio from the Orbita factory, the dawn of the space age with Yuri Gagarin, the film showcase '13 Benderov' and the introduction of the Beatlemania universe to Soviet boys and girls. In another hall — the atmosphere of exquisite Soviet pin-up, an ironic creation of the refined intellectual, Nizhny Novgorod artist Valery Barykin. At 'Kladovka. Gallery of Stories' you can listen to lots of great music on any format — from a gramophone to reel-to-reel tapes — and, of course, choose and buy records, artist-made handmade items, books by Nizhny Novgorod poets and writers, paintings and photographs.
