About exhibition

The museum is the custodian of a collection highly diverse in composition. It includes not only objects and documents related to the region's history, but above all the collection of the Trinity Kalyazin Makaryev Monastery: frescoes, icons, rare books, monumental paintings, engravings and lithographs, photographic materials, a rich corpus of decorative art, furniture, and park and memorial sculpture. The museum's holdings allow the story of the creation of the human living environment to be told, reflecting the cultural and artistic potential accumulated over centuries that is characteristic of the southeastern territory of the Principality of Tver and neighboring regions.
