Exhibition "The History of Vyatka in Events and People"
About exhibition
The centerpiece of the exhibition is a magnificent example of diorama art – the canvas "The Establishment of Soviet Power in the City of Vyatka." The main painted surface covers 280 square meters. In front of the lower part of the canvas is a foreground of objects that seamlessly merges with the image on the canvas. The authors of the diorama canvas – masters of battle painting from the M. B. Grekov Studio of Military Artists, Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR A. I. Intezarov and People's Artist of Russia N. N. Solomin – were awarded the M. B. Grekov gold medals. From the viewing platform, the spectator becomes a witness to the armed demonstration of December 1, 1917. The artists managed to create convincing scenes of urban life, and to convey types of people, their clothing, occupations and emotions.
