Exhibition "Toy Museum"

About exhibition

"Toy Museum" is a joint project of the Nizhny Novgorod Museum-Reserve and the artist Alexander Lavrov, launched in 2011. The exhibition features over 800 exhibits, including dolls, toy cars, toy trains, plush and mechanical toys of both Soviet and foreign manufacture. The museum has an entire display case dedicated to the Gorky factory "Mir", whose products were in high demand not only in the Nizhny Novgorod region but far beyond. The exhibition includes rare and unique items: baby dolls from 1900, an articulated doll from 1926, and the plush toy "Puss in Boots" from 1937. Visitors to the exhibition can easily recognize literary characters familiar from childhood, heroes of fairy tales and cartoons, and will also see dolls modeled on famous performers Oleg Popov and Yuri Nikulin. Everyone will find a familiar toy here and can also try their hand at board games.
