Exhibition 'Christian Art'
About exhibition
The Christian Art Hall displays copies of fresco paintings, icons, copper castings and sculpture. The copies of frescoes on display were made from originals dating from the 11th-17th centuries and introduce the art of Ancient and Medieval Rus'. The works were made by A. K. Krylov, a teacher at the I. E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (now the I. E. Repin St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture), and his students. The icons, copper castings and wooden sculpture represent Christian culture of the late 18th - early 20th centuries.
