Exhibition of the Efrem Zverkov Landscape Gallery
About exhibition
Visitors to the gallery find themselves in the interiors of the cozy house of provincial secretary N. G. Koltypin, built in 1855 in the Classical style. It is located on one of Tver’s old streets — Pushkinskaya; in the 20th century Tver artists rented spaces here for their studios. The gallery is named after the outstanding Russian artist E. I. Zverkov (1921–2012). The artist managed to create a deeply lyrical strand of the national landscape. The great artistic charm and individuality of his works, and their national distinctiveness, allow us to regard the painter’s work as a major phenomenon in the history of fine art. The best works of E. I. Zverkov have rightfully entered the ranks of the classics and occupy a deserved place in the largest museums in Russia and abroad. In the museum’s halls visitors will see fine examples of landscape painting by this prominent Tver master; exhibitions by both established and emerging artists from the Tver region are also regularly held here.
