Exhibition "Ancient Hillfort"

The exhibition presents one of the region's archaeological monuments – a gorodishche (fortified settlement), usually surrounded by earthen ramparts and ditches. Defensive structures at such sites could vary widely in construction and materials – earthen, timber-and-earth, rammed-earth, stone, or brick. On display are materials from the Kudymkar, Maikorsky, Rodanovsky and other hillforts of the 7th–14th centuries in the Komi-Permyak Okrug, which familiarize visitors with the military equipment, crafts, occupations, and worldview of the ancient inhabitants.
