Exhibition of the I. S. Nikitin House-Museum
About exhibition
Visits to the exhibition are conducted in four halls, each with its own theme. Childhood and youth are represented by paintings by Voronezh artists, and the memorial room recreates the interior of a middle-class merchant's house of the mid-19th century. The most valuable exhibits are the poet's personal belongings: a writing table, a backless chair, and a brass bell-shaped clock. The third hall explores how Ivan Nikitin's life and work are reflected in art. The next hall focuses on his literary and educational activities. The exhibition also includes a veranda with objects of middle-class merchant household life and an outdoor installation canopy showing the atmosphere of 19th-century Russian inn courtyards.
