Exhibition of the House‑Museum of the Artist Nikolai Khokhryakov
About exhibition
The house‑museum of the artist N. N. Khokhryakov is a monument of history and culture of the city of Vyatka. The building preserves an enfilade layout characteristic of civil architecture of the first half of the 19th century. The memorial exhibition includes paintings, sketches and graphic works by the Vyatka artist, a pupil of I. I. Shishkin — N. N. Khokhryakov, as well as photographs and memorial items that recreate the atmosphere of the house where the master lived and worked. He was among the founders of the art‑historical museum in the city of Vyatka and devoted more than 20 years of his life to serving the museum. The museum's collections hold the artist's paintings, his drawings, etchings and travel albums. Most of the artist's painted legacy consists of landscapes conveying the understated beauty of Vyatka's nature. The ticket price includes admission to the permanent and temporary exhibitions.
